Loss of wetland habitat

It looks like the farmer that rents the property on the north side of Hochreiter road has made good on his intentions of cultivating, what had been a great breeding area especialy this year, the south side of the road,one consolation being the fact that he waited until mid August to do so.
Bird species that were observed throughout the breeding season of 2007 included Least Bittern American Bittern, Sora, Virginia Rail, Moorhen, and Marsh Wren.
It's a shame to see it lost.
